Before Kai Löffelbein, a Hannover, Germany based photographer, became a photographer, he studied political science in Berlin. This study, “with all its structure and ways to approach an issue still helps a lot in daily life as a photographer.” he gave up politics though for documentary photography and since 2010 has been working as a freelancer for magazines and clients. He has worked in location as varied as South America, Africa and Asia. Kai says of his work, “With my pictures, I want to show the effects of socio-political and economic processes on common people.”
We are thrilled Kai has returned home to work on his project tracking E-waste trails in Germany and the Netherlands.
